Here at The Henna Peacock, we believe in doing our part for the planet. As a small business, we want to do our best to provide you with high quality services that do good, and where better to start than at the doorstep?
We thank you for supporting us and enabling us to help make a change, because of you, we can be the change we want to see, and we can support the causes that are close to our hearts.
So, what do we do?
The J9 Initiative
"J9 is an initiative to raise awareness and to help victims of domestic abuse. The J9 Domestic Abuse initiative is named in memory of Janine Mundy who was killed by her estranged husband in June 2003 while he was on police bail. Janine was the mother of two young boys. The initiative was started by her family and the local police in Cambourne, Cornwall, where she lived.
Janine used to sign her text messages J9 hence the name of this initiative.
Where the J9 logo is displayed in a premises it alerts victims that they can obtain information which will help them to access a safe place where there can seek information and the use of a telephone." - From the J9 Website
We beleive it is important to support and help each other, no matter what. Which we have joined this cause. We offer support, information, a safe place, our phone, and internet to help you get the support that you need. Because we are only open for appointments, we offer 'Angel Consultations'- Where you can book a consultsation where we will help support you however we can- wether it's someone to listen, or to help work out the next steps to take. We are here for you. To use this service, fill out the 'Angel consultation' form at the bottom of this page to book your appointment. We will not include any information about what this is when it is confirmed- It will go though like any other service, this is to try to protect you from any evidence that may be seen or found.
What Else Do We Do?
At The Henna Peacock, we are dedicated not just to henna, but to helping the earth and communities. We often help to raise money for charities, organisations and causes that benefit others.
We are nearly always doing something, From donating all our tips in Summer 2021 to Cancer Research where we managed to raise over £50, to donating our time and services during BT's Stand Up To Cancer in 2019 (where Shelby went to Exeter call center to adorn everyone who had donated their time to process and take the phone donations), to being part of the J9 initiative from 2020, being an official supporter of Devon Wildlife Trust (2022/2023), creating products that raise money for Devon Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Services (2018).
And as we grow our small business, we are able to support more important causes. The Henna Peacock is determined to leave a beautiful and positive legacy for future generations, and to inspire and create joy and support for all.

Donate Directly To Shelby's Fundraising Page
Shelby is planning to Brave The Shave in April 2025, and donate her long locks to the Little Princess Trust (who make wigs for kids who've lost their hair due to the effects of cancer treatments). She is aiming to raise as much as she possibly can- and dreams to be able to raise £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
You Can donate to Macmillan through Shelby's fundraising page below. All donations are processed by and go straight to Macmillan Cancer Support. You can also keep an eye on the page to see how much we've managed to raise so far. Every penny counts and is appreciated- both by us and those receiving support and help from Macmillan.

Over the years, you've helped us raise money for many causes. These include Devon Wildlife Trust, Cancer Research, Devon Air Ambulance, Ukraine Support, Willand Food Bank, and many more. From donations of products and services, to fundraisers, and often donating our tips- with your help we are dedicated to doing good and supporting others.
